Week 66 - Day of the Dead!

Hola Everyone:

Well, this past week again was pretty normal without anything too exciting happening!  Our investigator situation has not improved hardly at all!  We are contacting quite a few people and teaching a lot of lessons but nobody is progressing past that.  People are committing to coming to Church but every week, they simply just don’t show up for some reason or another so we are not teaching them anymore until they commit to coming to Church!

A few weeks ago, I told you about Juan, the guy who had a miracle by going to the ATM when he was really hungry and finding that he had money in there!  Well, he has been out of town on some business for the past few weeks so we are hoping that when he gets back, we can at least build on the experience that he had and start him coming to Church and progressing.

So, this past week, just like back home, it was Halloween.  Honestly it is really not that big of a deal here in Mexico but we did see a few kids walking around in costumes and asking people at the stores for some candy.  The Day of the Dead however is a lot bigger here and it was great to be in Actopan because they celebrated it pretty well.  As you will see in my pictures, they set up some places where people could make ofrendas for their departed family members.  They were pretty cool and most of them are made out of sand and flowers.  Also, we were able to go over to a member’s house and see the ofrenda they had in their home.

Well, not a lot to report on, this week we have been told that Elder Ulisses Soares from the Quorum of the 12 Apostles will be visiting our mission so that should be really cool.

Well, I hope everyone has a great week!

Love

Elder Fawcett
